(AMARG, Tucson AZ)
PhanCon is an annual international gathering of folks who flew, maintained, supported, photographed, tracked, modeled, or just plain enjoyed the sound of freedom promoted by this premier fighter of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Now celebrating over 50 years in action, the F-4 is still flying today in defense of many nations around the world, and while no longer on the front line in the US, she still serves an important role there too.
We get together to share stories, re-establish old friendships, examine memorabilia, and when possible, view the F-4 in action. Our primary purpose is preserving the heritage of the F-4, and this PhanCon is just but one of the endeavors the F-4 Phantom II Society supports.
This year we are returning to one of our favorite spots, Davis Monthan AFB and AMARG. Our conference will be located at the Radisson Suites Hotel by the Tucson International Airport. We plan to spend a full day touring AMARG and walking among the F-4s, a half day visiting F-4 operations, and a half day at the PIMA Air Museum.
To cover transportation, meals, and facility rentals the conference fee this year will be $190. Current members receive a special rate of $175. Their membership must be through Smoke Trails 19-1. Not sure if you are current? Then please contact our administrator to find out your status.
There is an early bird (EB) special! If you register before August 23rd you can receive fifteen dollars off each registration. {this has now ended}
Hotel
The Radisson Suites Hotel is just a few hundred yards from the Tucson International Airport entrance. This is the same hotel we've used before. They will give you the special rate three days before and after PhanCon should you wish to stay in the area or arrive early. See reservation details at the left.
Note, by law rooms are non-smoking. In addition smoking is not allowed within twenty feet of the entrances. For those of you that need a smoke the hotel suggests requesting a ground floor room that opens on to the courtyard.

First and Last Name (plus middle initial and any suffixes like Jr, Sr, II). Email address. Mailing Address. Phone. Gender. Age. SSN/Passport #. Country of Citizenship. Date of Birth. Actual place of residence. This information will be provided to the USAF authorities in advance of our visit. It will be kept private and not shared otherwise.
In addition we will be collecting the following info:
Desired information for name badge: First name, nickname(call sign), Last name, and on separate line an abbreviated version of your connection to the F-4. Enter the full version in the Comment at the end.).
Any special needs: (dietary, mobility).
A yes or no as to whether you plan to attend the banquet.
A spot to enter the names of banquet guest if applicable.
A place for additional information, comments, etc.
And last a " Comments" box which may be published here on this site. Attendees at past PhanCONs have asked that we share with each other our connection to the F-4. Please use this box to enter what you did, and where/with whom, and when you did it.. (note, there is a checkbox to have this comment NOT displayed. IF you do not wish to publicly display that info, make sure you check the box! We cannot change it.)
Your name, state/province and country along with your comment may be shown on a Attendee List on this website. As noted there is an option right after that comment box for you to decline that info being shown. Alas we can not retroactively change it should you change your mind.
If you click on either of the "register now" buttons on this page you will be given the opportunity to create a personal account with EZregister. Doing so will let you later check the status of your registration, and we think that is a good idea. But, you do not need to do that. You may skip that step and go straight to the registration page.
This year you may register more than one individual for the full event. You will need to know their personal information as indicated above, and be willing to vouch that they understand the waiver you will agree to. For society members if they are immediate family members they get the same "member" rate.
You may also pay for any guests you are only bringing to the banquet. They do not need to be registered but please do provide their names when requested during your registration. You will receive tickets for those guests.
The costs are basically the same as last year, if you register early!
General public registration is $190 for this event (with the early bird EB discount only $175).
Current members receive a special rate of $175 (with EB discount $160). Membership must be valid through Smoke Trails 19-1. This rate is also valid for immediate family members.
If you are not a member or need to renew membership you can get the current member rate by joining now or during registration ($215 or with EB discount $200).
So if you register early, before noon (Tucson time) on Aug 23rd, you can get fifteen dollars off each registration. {this has now ended, Sorry!}
Do make sure you carefully read the waiver at the end of the registration.

Sept 21st Last day for Hotel Reservations
Sept 23rd Last day to register. Registrations close at 1 PM Arizona time...
We are required to provide base security a list of all attendees with the required information by 23 Sept. Hence registrations will close at 1 PM that date. In the past we had to close overseas registrations much earlier, but as of right now that is not the case. Given how the world situation changes from day to day and security levels rise and fall we hope they won't move up the deadline for overseas folks.
Very Important
Currently the base is requiring two forms of government issued photo ID for access. We don't expect that to change.. so...
You must remember to bring two forms of Govt issued photo ID.
If you are US Military or US Military Retired please include that ID.
Foreign nationals, please include your Passport.
Vendors
If you wish to reserve a space or obtain more information please contact our Vendor Coordinator, Jack Callaway via this email address: Email Coordinator. Or you may call him at (915) 833-3388.
Airports/Rental Cars
Closest airport is Tucson International. As noted earlier our hotel is immediately adjacent and one can conveniently walk over if one wishes.
Avis is offering a car rental discount. Code is J093902. Avis Rental
Thats it for now folks. We will update the schedule soon. Contracts have already been signed for buses, room rates, and facilities. Our PhanCon committee stayed at the hotel In early May and met their contacts on the base and with hotel management and confirmed our requirements. Preflight is almost complete.
See y'all in Tucson!
